Valencia CF pay tribute to players' mothers on Spain's Mother's Day
Valencia CF have prepared a series of special actions for Mother's Day, which is celebrated this Sunday in Spain. Both the first team players and those in the VCF Academy have been involved in the activities.
The actions are sponsored by Libertex, an Official Partner to Valencia CF, and take place in the match between Valencia CF and FC Barcelona (9:00pm CEST, Mestalla).
When the team lineup is announced on social media, the club website and Official APP, a special creativity will be used: Instead of the names of the players, those of their mothers will appear, as a display of the appreciation the players have for those who have helped them throughout their careers.
Mothers represent unconditional support for the players and their role is fundamental, especially in the formative stages in the sport. Hence it is only fitting that the tribute be extended to the VCF Academy: An emotional video with the players from the Juvenil team, recently crowned Liga Nacional champions, will be played, in which they remember all of the contributions made by their mothers and place their names on their shirts.
At the VCF Academy Halls of Residence, players based at the Ciudad Deportiva surprised their mothers by sending a video expressing their gratitude to those important women who stand beside them -even from a distance. The reactions were captured by VCF Media.
